8.5 billion riyals added value to private institutions in the Sultanate of Oman during the third quarter

Muscat, January 4, 2024: The total added value of private institutions operating in the Sultanate of Oman during the third quarter of the year 2024 amounted to about 8 billion and 511 million and 900 thousand Omani riyals.
Preliminary statistics issued by the Omani National Center for Statistics and Information showed that the contribution of actually operating institutions to the gross domestic product at current prices during the third quarter of 2024 amounted to about 82%, compared to 81.4% for the third quarter of 2023.
The added value of large institutions at the end of the third quarter of the current year amounted to 6 billion and 279 million riyals, representing 60.5%, an increase of 4.3%, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to the Oman News Agency.
The added value of medium enterprises amounted to 665 million and 800 thousand riyals, or a rate of 6.4%, an increase of 3%, while the added value of small enterprises amounted to 716 million riyals, or a rate of 6.9%, an increase of 3.2%.
The number of workers in private institutions operating in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 0.6% at the end of the third quarter of this year, recording one million, 804,547 workers, compared to one million, 792,932 workers at the end of the third quarter of 2023, while the number of institutions reached 260,780 institutions for the third quarter. From 2024, an increase of 12.1%, compared to the same period in 2023.
