China launches an experimental refueling satellite into orbit

China successfully sent an experimental satellite, Shijian-25, into space this morning, aboard a Long March-3B rocket.

The satellite is mainly used to verify satellite fuel replenishment and life extension service technologies, according to the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, developer of “Shijian-25,” People’s Daily Online reported.

The newspaper added that the missile was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province, southwest China, and later sent the payload to the specified orbit.
