المملكة: Removal of a tumor compressing the brain of a fifty-year-old Moroccan pilgrim in Mecca

A specialized medical team at King Abdullah Medical City, a member of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster, succeeded in saving the life of a fifty-year-old Moroccan Umrah pilgrim, after receiving her as a life-saving case after she suffered from a severe deterioration in consciousness and an imbalance in vital signs, accompanied by serious pressure on the brainstem.

The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Council explained that advanced medical examinations revealed the presence of a large brain tumor that causes a dangerous increase in cerebral pressure.
Immediately, an emergency surgery was performed to remove the tumor and relieve the pressure, which, thanks to God, saved the patient’s life and stabilized her condition.

The group indicated that the patient underwent close monitoring in intensive care, and was removed from ventilators after a noticeable improvement in her consciousness.
Her condition continued to improve until she was transferred to the inpatient department, where she left the hospital in good health. She regained full consciousness and movement without any complications. Her condition will continue to be monitored through outpatient clinics to complete the necessary treatment based on the final medical evaluation.

It is noteworthy that the Neuroscience Center at King Abdullah Medical City is considered one of the leading centers regionally in providing precise specialized services to treat complex cases.
This medical achievement comes thanks to the continuous support of our wise government – may God protect it – and the Ministry of Health’s keenness to provide the best health care to the guests of God.
