Strong competitions in the Purebred Arabian Horse Championship at Al Dhafra Festival

Al Dhafra, 13 January / WAM / The Purebred Arabian Horse Racing Championship, which took place yesterday afternoon as part of the activities of the closing leg of the 18th Al Dhafra Festival, witnessed strong competitions, as 30 riders competed in 3 rounds on the horse racing track in Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra region.

The first place in the main Al Dhafra race, for a distance of 1700 metres, came to the horse “Jingal” owned by Saif Asir Al Mazrouei, in second place was “Al Habi” by Ali Suhail Ali Al Mazrouei, and in third place was “Safir Al Thani” by Ahmed Muhammad Fan Al Muhairbi.

In the open half for a distance of 1400 metres, “Gharbia Sky” by Hamdan Ali Suhail Al Mazrouei came in first place, in second place was “Hafiz” by Salem Ali Murshid Al Marar, and in third place was “Ghazi” by Ahmed Muhammad Fan Al Muhairbi.

As for the 1,400-meter beginner’s race, the results came in first place: “Raghad Al Gharbiyya” by Ali Suhail Ali Al Mazrouei, “SW Al Maheeb” by Mohammed Mabkhout Al Mansouri came in second place, and “Nasayem Baynouna” by Abdullah Bakhit Al Marar came in third place.

The Purebred Arabian Horse Racing Championship was held as part of the activities accompanying the final Al Dhafra Festival, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and continues until January 30 in Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra region. The championship came within the framework of encouraging equestrian sports as one of the important heritage sports and urging new generations to take an interest in it.

The field of events accompanying the festival also witnessed the second half of the qualifying competitions for the “Inflate the Sitting” competition.

On the other hand, the Al Dhafra Heritage Market, which accompanies the activities of the closing Al Dhafra Festival, represents a state of excellence and creativity to transfer the Emirati heritage to future generations in an exciting way, by displaying products that touch the lives of parents and grandparents in the past.

The children’s entertainment corner in the market also provides an endless experience of fun and happiness, through rich and varied games that create a competitive atmosphere and enhance interaction between them.

In a related context, the closing Al Dhafra Festival announced yesterday the names of the winners of the date decoration and packaging competition for the (Dabbas) category, whose competitions take place in the Al Dhafra Heritage Market and continue until January 19 of this year.

Al Dhafra Festival witnesses wide participation from farmers and date producers, who compete in the competition for 4 varieties of dates for which valuable prizes are allocated.

The date decoration and packaging competition aims to highlight the quality of Emirati dates and introduce visitors to the best varieties by displaying them in an open competition, in addition to supporting the efforts of the country’s farmers in sustaining date production and expanding the cultivation of distinctive varieties.
