"Emirates Blue" Crowned with the D50 Domestic Cricket Championship title

Sharjah, April 11 / WAM / The Emirates Blue team was crowned champion of the seventh edition of the D50 local cricket tournament organized by the Emirates Cricket Council, with the participation of 6 teams, whose competitions were held over a period of ten days in the country’s stadiums.
Emirates Blue was crowned champion after topping the standings with a comfortable margin of points ahead of the Abu Dhabi team, at the conclusion of the tournament held yesterday.
The tournament witnessed the participation of six local teams, which was held in a 50-round format, namely: Abu Dhabi (the defending champion), Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Emirates Blue.
The Fujairah team is considered the most successful team in the tournament in recent years, as it won the title three times out of seven editions, while the Emirates Blue won the title twice, and the Emirates Reds and Abu Dhabi each won the title once.
At the conclusion of the competitions, the coach of the UAE men’s national team, Lalashan Rajput, handed over the championship cup to the captain of the “Emirates Blue” team, Rahul, amid a festive atmosphere and great joy from the team players.
Zayed Abbas, member of the Emirates Cricket Council and the official spokesman for the Council, congratulated the “Emirates Blue” team on winning the title, praising the technical level and enthusiasm shown by all the participating teams.
He stressed that the tournament has become an essential station on the local cricket agenda in the country, pointing out that this year’s edition represented an important opportunity to discover talent and young players who can be relied upon to support the national teams during the next stage.
