المملكة: “Masam” project removes 639 mines in Yemen within a week

During the second week of January 2025, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands of mines was able to remove 639 mines in various regions of Yemen, including 45 anti-tank mines, 8 anti-personnel mines, 585 unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices. One explosive.
The “Masam” team cleared 6 anti-personnel mines, 15 anti-tank mines, and 262 unexploded ordnances in Aden Governorate, and 7 unexploded ordnances in Hays District, Hodeidah Governorate, and two unexploded ordnances in Al-Waht District, Lahj Governorate.
In Ma’rib Governorate, the team was able to remove 30 anti-tank mines and 291 unexploded ordnance, and in Shabwa Governorate, the team removed one anti-personnel mine, one unexploded ordnance, and one explosive device in Usaylan District, and one anti-personnel mine and one unexploded ordnance in Ain District.

In Taiz Governorate, the team removed 17 unexploded ordnance in Al-Mukha District, and 4 unexploded ordnance in Dhubab District.
Thus, the number of mines removed during the month of January has risen so far to 1,790 mines, while the number of mines removed since the beginning of the “Masam” project has risen to date to 478,222 mines that were planted randomly in various Yemeni lands to claim more innocent victims from children, women and the elderly.
