Mohammed bin Rashid discusses with the Prime Minister of Finland enhancing cooperation in vital areas

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Finland, Petteri Urbo, discussed the future of partnership and cooperation in many vital fields, in a way that serves the comprehensive and sustainable development goals of the two friendly countries.
This came during his reception, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, yesterday, with the Finnish Prime Minister, at Zabeel Palace in Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum welcomed the Prime Minister of the Republic of Finland, Petteri Urbo, and the accompanying delegation, expressing His Highness the UAE’s pride in the ties of friendship and cooperation that have brought the two sides together over the past 50 years, and since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, stressing the UAE’s keenness To strengthen the foundations of these ties by discovering new horizons that push towards strengthening a strategic partnership based on the areas of distinction that both sides enjoy in many fields.
During the meeting, which was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, President of Dubai Airports, Supreme Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, His Highness expressed the UAE’s aspiration To deepen cooperation with Finland in a number of key sectors, which include, in addition to strengthening economic and investment relations, the fields of education, health, circular economy, technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and space, Communications, and others.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed the importance of providing more facilities and incentives to the private sector on both sides, to discover new opportunities to build more bridges of cooperation that serve the directions of the strategic partnership between the two countries, pointing out that the UAE welcomes Finnish companies that have chosen the UAE as a headquarters for their regional business. And its keenness to provide the necessary supports that will enable it to grow and expand, with the UAE looking forward to welcoming more Finnish companies seeking to establish business in the region.
For his part, Petteri Urbo stressed his country’s desire to develop the prospects for constructive cooperation with the UAE, which is Finland’s first trading partner at the level of the Arab Gulf states, noting the comprehensive development renaissance the UAE is witnessing in various fields, and the efforts it is making at the regional levels. And globally, especially in terms of development and humanitarian aid, which earned it a prominent international position, expressing his wishes for the UAE to further progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, some of the many advantages that the UAE places at the disposal of business institutions, companies and investors from around the world were reviewed, the most important of which are the world-class infrastructure and the advanced and flexible legislative and regulatory frameworks that support the interests of business institutions and protect their investments, in addition to the economic facilities and incentives provided to investors. This has made the UAE a leading regional economic center, especially in the tourism, trade, financial and logistical services sectors.
The two sides also discussed the most prominent developments on the international and regional arenas, and the developments taking place in the Middle East region.
