Cooperation between "Energy and infrastructure" and"Energy and mining" In Uruguay in the energy sector and climate action

Abu Dhabi, 14 January / WAM / The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining in the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, within the framework of joint work to exchange experiences and studies, with the aim of advancing the vital sectors related to their specialization, especially energy and climate action.
The memorandum was signed, on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, by Nawal Al Hinai, Director of the Future Energy Department at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and Christian Nieves Laws, National Director of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining in Eastern Uruguay.
The two parties will cooperate in exchanging information, knowledge and experiences, holding high-level meetings to discuss and reflect on issues of mutual benefit, participating in the preparation of academic theses, enhancing energy-related cooperation, and organizing workshops for activities related to the field.
Nawal Al-Hinai stressed that such partnerships contribute to crystallizing the transition towards clean, renewable energy. They also contribute to opening broad horizons for growth and development within the efforts of the two countries to diversify the energy mix and rely on clean ones, and in building more partnerships to benefit from the opportunities associated with the global leadership of the two countries.
She pointed out that this memorandum reflects the joint commitment to developing strategic partnerships that contribute to achieving common interests, as it establishes a cooperation framework that supports vital sectors such as clean energy and climate action.
