Dubai Land Department invites real estate owners to register in the “Owners’ Committees”

The Real Estate Regulatory Agency, affiliated with the Dubai Land Department, called on all property owners in jointly owned projects to register in owners’ committees, in line with the joint property ownership law in Dubai.
Owners’ committees are an essential platform for empowering owners and enhancing their effective participation in managing their communities, which contributes to improving the quality of life and increasing levels of comfort and satisfaction among residents.
This trend comes within Dubai’s pioneering vision to enhance optimal management of jointly owned properties and ensure transparency in all areas.
Mohammed Ali Al-Badwawi, Acting Executive Director of the Real Estate Regulatory Agency, stressed that automating the registration of owners’ committees aims to facilitate procedures and enhance the integration of roles with management companies.
He explained that owners’ committees are an essential part of Dubai’s vision for managing jointly owned properties, as they contribute to real estate sustainability by reviewing budgets, setting maintenance priorities, and providing feedback on service plans, in addition to enhancing the values of cooperation and community participation.
Mohammed Al-Dah, Director of the Joint Real Estate Ownership Department at the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, confirmed that registration in the owners’ committees gives owners a real opportunity to actively participate in decision-making in their real estate communities.
To join the owners committees, applicants must reside in the property, hold a valid Emirates ID card, a certificate of good standing from Dubai Police, and pay service fees.
Registration will be available until January 31, 2025 via the website or the Dubai Rest application, with priority for the first nine members, and members will be announced in February.
