The UAE participates in the 18th meeting of the Air Transport Regulatory Committee"ICAO" In Montreal

Montreal on April 29/ WAM/ The United Arab Emirates participated in a delegation headed by the General Authority of Civil Aviation and with the participation of representatives of local aviation departments and airlines in the eighteenth meeting of the Air Civil Aviation Organization Committee “ATRP/ 18”, which was held in Montreal, Canada, recently.
According to a press release issued today, this participation came within the framework of the state’s continuous commitment to strengthening international cooperation in the field of air transport regulation and keeping pace with global developments.
During the meeting, several major topics related to the liberalization of air transport and the removal of restrictions to reach the markets were discussed, in addition to the organizational and administrative issues related to the committee, while some of the items included in the model of the Air Transport Services Agreement of the International Civil Aviation Organization were reviewed, and to prepare for the seventh edition of the World Air Transport Conference that will be held in 2026, with the aim of strengthening the global air transport sector.
The participation of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in this meeting comes as part of its efforts to enhance cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and support the initiatives aimed at overcoming the challenges facing the growth of the global air transport sector, as the delegation of the authority was keen to emphasize the importance of developing flexible policies that contribute to enabling member states to reach international markets, in line with the sector’s requirements and enhances its sustainability.
During the meeting, the delegation of the commission stressed its continuous support for ICAO’s efforts to improve the international air transport environment, noting the need for continuous cooperation between member states to achieve sustainable development goals and enhance access to global markets.
