Global indices mixed after technology stocks decline on Wall Street

Global stock indices varied today, Tuesday, influenced by the performance of the main stock indices on the American Wall Street Stock Exchange, as gains in oil and gas companies helped offset the declines in Nvidia and other major technology companies.
The French CAC 40 index rose, in early trading, by about 1%, reaching 7,478.96 points, and the German DAX index rose by 0.6%, reaching 20,263.87 points.

The British Financial Times 100 Index settled unchanged at 8227.05 points. Standard & Poor’s 500 futures rose by about 0.5%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose by about 3.0%.

It declined, in morning trading, by 1.8% to reach 38,474.30 points.
The Australian Standard & Poor’s/ASX 200 index rose 0.5% to 8,231 points. The KOSPI index in South Korea rose by 0.3% to reach 2497.40 points.
The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong rose by 1.8%, reaching 19,219.78 points, and the Shanghai Composite Index rose by 2.5%, reaching 3,240.94 points.

The major US stock indices closed mixed at the end of trading on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the trading session higher by 358.67 points, or 0.9%, to reach 42,297.12 points.
The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 index added 9.18 points, or 0.2%, to reach 5836.22 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index of technology stocks lost 73.53 points, or 0.4%, to reach 19,008.10 points, due to the weak performance of stocks of major technology companies.

In the energy market, today, Tuesday, the price of US West Texas Intermediate crude fell by 10 cents to reach $78.72 per barrel, and the price of Brent crude, the global standard for oil prices, fell by 23 cents to reach $80.78 per barrel.
In the currency markets, today, Tuesday, the dollar rose against the Japanese yen, reaching 157.70 yen, from 157.48 yen, while the euro fell to $1.0266 from $1.0245.
