Amazon is discontinuing the “try before you buy” feature at this time

Amazon announced that it will stop working on the “Try Before You Buy Prime” program by the end of this January, as a notice appears on the program page stating that the service will permanently stop on January 31, 2025.

Amazon launched this feature for the first time in 2018 under the name Prime Wardrobe, allowing members to choose 6 products to try and return unwanted items within a week, at no additional cost, with payment only on the items that are kept. Examples included clothing, shoes, Jewelry, accessories.

An Amazon spokesman explained in a statement that the company decided to abandon the program due to customers’ trend towards features supported by artificial intelligence, such as: virtual try-on, personal size recommendations, distinguished user reviews, and improved size tables to help them accurately choose.

He added that these new tools provide a more accurate and comfortable shopping experience, and with the program’s expiration date approaching on January 31, 2025, customers are advised to take advantage of the service before it is permanently stopped by Amazon.
