The Ruler of Sharjah receives the President of the Republic of Uganda

This morning, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, received Yoweri Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, at Al Badi Palace.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah welcomed the President of the Republic of Uganda and his accompanying delegation, and His Highness exchanged cordial conversations with Museveni on a number of topics related to education, culture, and development of local communities, in addition to the industrial, commercial, and economic fields and the importance of developing them.

The meeting discussed the projects that the Emirate of Sharjah is working on in many African countries in general, and the Republic of Uganda in particular, which focus on education, culture and infrastructure development, which contributes to the exchange of knowledge and the strengthening and strengthening of joint relations between the two countries, and brings multiple benefits to society. Upgrading economic resources and achieving communication in various educational and societal fields.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah listened to a detailed explanation about the progress of the work of the Busoga International Applied Technical Institute, which was established in Uganda under the patronage of His Highness and was opened in the year 2021 AD.

The institute includes a number of specializations in mechanical and electrical engineering and carpentry to train and qualify male and female students and graduate them to work as distinguished professional cadres. Since its inception, the number of graduates from the institute has reached 254 technicians in various fields of the institute’s specialization.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Yoweri Museveni, reviewed the engineering plans for the Kdepo International Airport project in Uganda, which will be established to develop the local community there.

His Highness learned about the various facilities included in the project that provide advanced services to travelers through the airport and commercial traffic there. His Highness also viewed pictures of the Busoga Institute and the facilities it includes, including practical workshops and study halls, and pictures of students’ graduation.

The airport to be constructed is located in the Kdibo Reserve in Uganda, and features a 3.6 km runway and a building that can accommodate 2 million passengers annually, making it a distinguished project that contributes to upgrading domestic and international travel services, and linking the region to international cities, in addition to other services related to the project such as trade, tourism, employment, and training. For local cadres and others.

For his part, Yoweri Museveni extended his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for the good reception, and for the great support that His Highness provides for the establishment and implementation of many development projects, and His Highness’s follow-up and interest in students of science and youth in different countries and training and qualifying them in various fields to help local communities, which is reflected in On people’s lives and their advancement.

The meeting was attended by Rashid bin Ahmed Al Sheikh, Head of the Emiri Diwan, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of the Protocol and Hospitality Department, Abdullah Hassan Obaid Hassan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Uganda, and Zaki Kebede, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to the UAE. And Mohammed Ahmed Amin, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the delegation accompanying the President of the Republic of Uganda.
