Mass arrests await unregistered immigrants in America…this is their time

A senior border official in the Donald Trump administration revealed that immigration authorities will carry out mass arrests of undocumented immigrants across the country on Tuesday.
During his campaign, Trump vowed to deport millions of undocumented immigrants from the United States.

Tom Homan, known as the “Border Czar,” confirmed to Fox News that “there will be major raids all over the country. Chicago is just one of many places.”
There have also been reports in the Wall Street Journal and other media outlets that the new Trump administration is planning to carry out “sweeps” in Chicago starting Tuesday.
Homan headed the agency charged with overseeing the US border during the previous Trump administration (2017-2021), during which nearly four thousand children were separated from their migrant parents and placed in detention.

Homan confirmed that on Tuesday, ICE would finally go about its work, commenting: “We will take the handcuffs off ICE and allow it to arrest criminal aliens.”
He added: “What we are telling ICE is that you will enforce immigration law without apology. You will focus on the worst first, the threats to public safety first, but no one is immune. If they are in the country illegally, they will have a problem.”
The Wall Street Journal also reported that the large-scale raids in Chicago are expected to begin Tuesday, the day after Trump’s inauguration, and will continue “throughout the week” with the participation of 100 to 200 Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, citing four unidentified people with knowledge of the operation’s planning. .

Immigrants in Chicago

Chicago police spokesman Don Terry told the New York Times that the department would not “interfere with any other government agencies performing their duties.”
But he said the department “does not document immigration status” and “will not share information with federal immigration authorities.”
Chicago, located in the Midwest, is one of several Democratic-led US cities that has declared itself a sanctuary for immigrants, meaning they will not be arrested simply because they do not have legal immigration status.
