Dubai, January 18 / WAM / The activities of the 36th edition of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament will conclude tomorrow with the fourth and final round being held on the Majlis Course at the Emirates Golf Club.
126 of the world’s most prominent players participate in the tournament, competing for financial prizes worth a total of 9 million US dollars, with the first winner receiving 1.53 million dollars, and the historic “Dalla Cup”.
The third round, which was held today, witnessed a strong performance from New Zealander Daniel Hillier, who topped the rankings with a score of 13 strokes under par, and his rival was Englishman Tyrell Hatton, winner of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship 2021, with a score of 12 strokes under par, in second place.
At a time when players who have previously won the title are moving away from the advanced positions, attention is turning to the possibility of crowning a new champion in this edition, as Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy ranks 12th with a score of 6 strokes under par, after recording his best numbers in the third round by three.
