المملكة: The Kingdom and Portugal sign an agreement to exempt diplomatic passports from visas
He met with His Highness the Prince bin Abdullah Wazir and international developments, including efforts aimed at reducing the escalation in the region, welcoming the agreement reached between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America to end military operations, and starting detailed negotiations with the aim of reaching a permanent agreement, and the importance of supporting all comprehensive and just diplomatic solutions to ensure the sustainability of security and stability in the region.
The two ministers signed an agreement on mutual exemption from entry visas for holders of diplomatic and private passports.
Supporting international peace and security
His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed his congratulations to the Portuguese Republic on its election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council for the period 2027-2028, wishing the friendly Republic of Portugal good luck and success during its term as a member. It contributes to continuing its vital role in supporting international peace and security.
His Highness also expressed his appreciation for Portugal’s positions in support of regional issues, most notably its official recognition of the State of Palestine, and its support for peaceful solutions and initiatives to implement the two-state solution.
His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs also appreciated the role of the Portuguese Republic in supporting the values of understanding and coexistence between peoples of different religions and cultures, by hosting the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Dialogue among Followers of Religions and Cultures in the city of Lisbon.
Appreciating the Kingdom’s positions
For his part, Paulo Rangel expressed his country’s appreciation for the positions The Kingdom’s positive call for reducing escalation at the regional and international levels, and its continued support for diplomatic efforts and peaceful solutions.
He also expressed his country’s aspiration to continue joint work and coordination between the two friendly countries, in a way that serves their common interests and enhances bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially economic, trade and investment, and expressed his country’s aspiration to explore more opportunities available to Portuguese companies and entities within the framework of the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
He attended Meeting with the Deputy Head of Mission at the Kingdom’s Embassy in the Portuguese Republic, Abdul Rahman bin Talal Al-Hujailan.
