Dibba Municipality and the University of Fujairah enhance cooperation in the fields of training, scientific research and community service

Fujairah, June 16 / WAM / The Municipality of Dibba and the University of Fujairah signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance aspects of cooperation in the fields of training, qualification, scientific research and community service, in a way that supports the exchange of experiences and knowledge, contributes to the preparation of national competencies and enables young people to acquire practical and cognitive skills that keep pace with the requirements of the future.

The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Engineer Hassan Salem Al Yamahi, Director General of Dibba Municipality, and His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, President of Fujairah University, based on the shared vision of both parties to build effective strategic partnerships between government and academic institutions, in a way that enhances community development and supports the development process in the Emirate of Fujairah.

The two sides stressed that the memorandum represents an important step towards strengthening efforts and benefiting from joint capabilities and experiences, in a way that enhances integration between the government and academic sectors, and supports the development of initiatives and projects that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.

The memorandum includes cooperation in the fields of field training for university students, implementing training programs, professional courses and specialized workshops, in addition to preparing studies and applied research of common interest, and organizing community initiatives and events that contribute to developing services and enhancing the quality of life.

His Excellency Engineer Hassan Salem Al Yamahi said that this partnership comes within the framework of Dibba Municipality’s keenness to enhance cooperation with leading academic institutions and optimal investment in young national cadres, stressing that the memorandum will contribute to providing quality training opportunities and developing innovative solutions that support the Fujairah 2028 plan.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman Al-Jassem stressed the University of Fujairah’s keenness to build effective partnerships with government institutions as a basic pillar for enhancing the role of higher education in serving society and supporting the development process.

He said that the role of universities today goes beyond the confines of classrooms to include contributing to the knowledge industry and providing scientific solutions to development challenges, noting that this memorandum will open broad horizons for students to interact with realistic work environments and apply their academic knowledge through training programs and research projects that contribute to finding innovative solutions and support the emirate’s aspirations for the future.
