The Sultan of Oman receives Saqr Ghobash

Muscat, January 19 / WAM / His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, received, this morning, at Al Baraka Palace, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, and His Highness’s wishes to the Sultanate of Oman and its brotherly people for continued advancement, progress and prosperity in various fields.
He also extended his congratulations to His Majesty the Sultan of Oman, on the occasion of the anniversary of His Majesty assuming the reins of power in the Sultanate of Oman.
His Majesty the Sultan of Oman, Ghobash, conveyed his sincere greetings and good wishes to His Highness the Head of State, may God protect him.
During the meeting, aspects of existing cooperation between the two brotherly countries were reviewed, especially with regard to parliamentary councils, and ways to develop the mechanism of their work system, in a way that serves the national plans and visions of the two countries, and meets the hopes and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
For his part, Ghobash stressed the depth of the historical, fraternal and strategic relations that extend between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman for long historical decades, pointing out that the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman are linked by strong and growing fraternal relations and integrated strategic partnerships, the foundations of which were established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. And Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may God bless them both.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council, and His Excellency Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, the UAE Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.
