المملكة: “Birth of Mecca” records 75,000 radiological services during 2024

The Radiology Department at the Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, a member of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster, provided its services to more than 75,000 beneficiaries during the year 2024.
The Mecca Health Cluster revealed that the department’s services varied between 1,011 fluoroscopy scans, 39,594 general X-rays, 3,708 MRI scans, 3,239 CT scans, in addition to 28,299 ultrasound examinations.
The group indicated that the department works effectively to provide appropriate diagnosis, as more than 100 ultrasound examinations are performed daily, in addition to other examinations.

The department also contributes to diagnosing the causes of delayed pregnancy by using ultrasound and fluoroscopy to examine the uterus and fallopian tubes.
He added that the department expanded its services by providing appointments for MRI procedures outside official working hours, to facilitate the service for patients and reduce waiting times.
It is noteworthy that the department seeks to achieve the goals of the Makkah Health Cluster through the path of safe delivery, by providing specialized examinations to measure fetal growth and monitor blood flow through the umbilical cord, in a way that enhances the safety of the mother and fetus.
