A 5.2 magnitude earthquake hits the Turkish coast of the Aegean Sea

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck the Aegean Sea off the coast of Çanaq Qala state in western Türkiye.
The Turkish Emergency and Disaster Management Administration (AFAD) reported that the earthquake occurred late yesterday, 6.62 km from the coast of Ayvalik district in the province, and at a depth of 8.65 km under the seabed.
The administration indicated that no official warnings were issued regarding the occurrence of tsunami waves, and no material damage or human losses resulting from the earthquake have been recorded so far.
