The Central Bank issues a commemorative coin on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its founding

The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates announced the issuance of a commemorative silver coin on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its founding.
The commemorative coin embodies the Central Bank’s achievements over 50 years in the field of developing the banking and financial sector, and its pivotal role in advancing economic development towards achieving the vision of the wise leadership to be among the best central banks in the world.
The Central Bank is offering 3,000 of these commemorative coins. The weight of the coin is 60 grams, and the front side includes a picture of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” surrounded by the phrase (President of the United Arab Emirates) in Arabic. As for the reverse side of the coin, it includes a drawing of the United Arab Emirates Central Bank building, and the phrase (50 years since the establishment of the United Arab Emirates Central Bank) in Arabic and English on the upper and lower sides, and the years 1973-2023, in addition to the nominal value of the commemorative coin (50 dirhams). The commemorative coin will be on sale for 650 dirhams, including delivery fees within the country.
In conjunction with the issuance of the commemorative coin, the Central Bank launched a digital service platform to purchase the commemorative coins issued by the Central Bank through its website, with easy and simple steps, and distinctive and secure features, through immediate entry via the digital ID.
This digital service comes within the framework of the Central Bank’s commitment to applying the best international practices to raise the level of government services in the financial sector, enhance efficiency and provide pioneering institutional services with global standards, reduce the customers’ journey in terms of time, effort and resources, and provide a smooth and fast experience by facilitating the process of accessing the bank’s services. The Central Bank, its issues and products, and reducing unnecessary burdens on customers from within the country or anywhere in the world.
All commemorative coins issued by the Central Bank in previous years will also be available on the platform on the Central Bank’s website, with quantities available for sale, starting today (Wednesday, January 22, 2025).
