"Ice Eye" International: Space42 facilities in Abu Dhabi will be an integrated satellite manufacturing center

Abu Dhabi, March 18 / WAM / Rafale Modrziuski, CEO of the Finnish International Iceye Iceye International, specialized in space technology and satellite development, stressed that the joint project with “Space42” for radar satellite manufacturing in the UAE is a qualitative step to enhance the capabilities of radar satellite manufacturing “SAR” inside the Emirates, indicating that cooperation provides design and operation. Industrial satellites locally within an integrated production system.
Rafal Modrziuski said in statements to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM” that the assembly, integration and testing facilities “AIT” and the low -Earth’s “Leo” orbit operations in the Space42 in Abu Dhabi will be an integrated center for the manufacture and operation of satellite, which establishes the UAE’s position as a major player in the space sector.
He explained that the UAE has made great progress in the space sector and satellite technologies, and has a clear vision to enhance its position as a global center for space innovation.
He stressed that the company is working closely with the UAE authorities to develop joint space projects, and to provide advanced solutions to support security and satellite technology.
Modrziuski pointed out that the cooperation between Iceye and Space42 began in May 2023 through a space mission that includes five satellites where two other moon was added to reach seven satellites, and at the end of 2024, the joint project to manufacture SAR was announced inside the country, which enhances the land monitoring program and keeps pace with the increasing demand for high -resolution images and data.
He stressed that satellite data plays a pivotal role in supporting the digital transformation of the Emirates, noting that SAR technologies provide accurate infrastructure monitoring, traffic management, monitoring oil leaks, and enhancing marine safety as well as improving urban planning for smart cities and monitoring environmental changes associated with climate change.
He explained that integrating artificial intelligence with SAR data opens new horizons in geographical analyzes, through automation to identify patterns, improve predictive modeling, and extract immediate visions that support environmental monitoring, which contributes to enhancing the role of the UAE as a global space to innovate space.
Modrziuski pointed out that Iceye is studying opportunities to cooperate with Emirati incubators and accelerators to enhance the space innovation system, explaining that the company is working to train Emirati engineers in cooperation with Space42, allowing them to acquire practical experiences in the manufacture of satellites and ground control technologies.
He added that the development of Emirati talents is an essential part of the state’s vision to advance the space sector, stressing that Iceye focuses on training national cadres in the fields of satellite engineering, artificial intelligence, and data analysis.
He noted that the current technical developments allow the acceleration of satellite manufacturing operations that can be prepared for launch within months, compared to the long years that it had previously taken, which enhances the UAE’s position as a global center for space research and development.
He stressed that Iceye is committed to supporting the ambitious UAE march in the space sector, by enhancing strategic partnerships, transferring knowledge, and developing national competencies, to keep pace with the future country’s vision for innovation and space technology.
