His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, said that the brotherly relations between the UAE and the sisterly state of Kuwait are witnessing successive positive developments in all political, economic, cultural and social fields, thanks to the joint will of the two leaders of the two countries in upgrading these relations to more broaded levels of strategic partnership.
He added that the value of non -oil trade between the UAE and Kuwait during the first 11 months of 2024 amounted to 45.4 billion dirhams “12.4 billion dollars” with an annual growth of 7.2% compared to the similar period from 2023 according to the initial figures, while the investments flowing from the State of Kuwait to the Emirates amounted to The beginning of 2023 is worth $ 4 billion.
His Excellency explained that the launch of the Emirati Kuwaiti week in Dubai as a platform for exploring investment opportunities in the targeted sectors, and promoting the growth of inter -trade, a translation of the two countries’ commitment to enhance growth and cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, by providing new opportunities for the private sector and business community in the two brotherly countries.
His Excellency stressed the importance of this cooperation and its pivotal role in supporting the private sector and small and medium enterprises on both sides, which is considered an essential pillar for achieving economic growth, in addition to exchanging experiences and experiences in the areas of developing government services, which contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of the two countries on the international economic scene.
His Excellency Al -Zyoudi pointed out that the UAE and Kuwait are working to enhance economic cooperation frameworks and expand strategic partnerships between them and emphasized the importance of investing the opportunities available in both countries, and exploring new possibilities to stimulate sustainable economic growth, in line with the vision of “We Emirates 2031” and the vision of “Kuwait 2035”, the two goals To achieve sustainable development and enhance economic prosperity in the region.
For his part, His Excellency Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chambers, said that the Emirati Kuwaiti week contributes to the development of inter -trade and investment between the two brotherly countries to broader horizons, and in enhancing joint cooperation to develop more promising investment opportunities in a group of vital sectors, stimulating growth Economic and sharing best practices and experiences.
His Excellency added that the Dubai Chambers supports the UAE Kuwaiti week, in order to enhance trade and investment relations with the State of Kuwait, and it works under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the Kuwait Business Council, which represents the interests of Kuwaiti companies operating in the emirate, as the number of active Kuwaiti companies registered in the chamber membership increased to 775 companies at the end of September of this year.
For his part, His Excellency Khalifa Al -Ajil, Minister of Trade and Industry in Kuwait, said that the Emirati -Kuwaiti week aims to explore more opportunities to upgrade the relations of the two brotherly countries and contribute to enhancing joint economic cooperation to develop more promising investment opportunities in a group of vital sectors and stimulating the growth of inter -trade movement. The UAE is ranked first in the world as the largest future for Kuwait’s non -oil exports, with 22% of Kuwaiti exports to the world, and at the same time the UAE comes in third place for the most important Kuwaiti import markets after China and the United States.
On the other hand, Kuwait is ranked 12th for the most important Emirates trading partners during 2023 and the third in the Gulf after Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, and ranked 9th in Emirati non -oil exports and the sixth rank in re -export.
The volume of investments flowing from the UAE to Kuwait amounted to about 1.087 billion dollars, while the investments flowing from the State of Kuwait to the UAE amounted to about 3.9 billion dollars.
In the tourism field, the number of Kuwaiti tourists who stayed in state hotels in 2023 reached more than 381 thousand tourists compared to 250 thousand tourists in 2022, while the number of Emirati tourists in Kuwait reached 42 thousand and 236 tourists during the period from January to September 2024.
The number of flights for national carriers to the State of Kuwait reached 122 flights per week, while the total Kuwaiti carriers to the Emirates reached 53 flights per week.
