The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al -Khuraif, participated in a dialogue session held within the work of the annual meeting of the 2025 World Economic Forum in, entitled “Industrial Infrastructure for the next generation”.
He emphasized the Kingdom’s efforts in industrial and digital infrastructure, by adopting advanced technologies in manufacturing, benefiting from the fourth applications, and implementing strategic projects in various sectors, in order to support the diversification of its economy and enhance its competitiveness globally, noting that the adoption of technology is a major driver to achieve rapid progress in various industries .

The global industrial scene

Al -Khuraif stressed the entrepreneurial role of the Kingdom in shaping the future of industrial infrastructure at the global level, indicating that progress in innovative technologies and promoting sustainable development pave the way for the Kingdom to cause radical transformations in the global industrial scene, in line with the targets of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.

He participated in examples of initiatives that enhance the industrial transformation in the Kingdom, including the focus that the Kingdom becomes a leader in the electric car sector (EVS), and its progress in the field of renewable energy, along with the ambitious Kingdom program; To convert industrial cities into smart cities, which will enhance competitiveness, attract global talents and investments, and provide qualitative jobs for Saudi youth.

Future factories program

The graduate talks about the future factories program that aims to automate 4 thousand factories in the Kingdom, and supports their conversion to smart facilities that adopt the techniques of the fourth industrial revolution, including artificial intelligence (AI), and 3D printing, pointing out that the Kingdom supports these programs with components and incentives Quality; Including loans to support technology adoption, and create opportunities for innovators to test and experience new technologies in the Kingdom.
He stressed the importance of building a strong local database to maximize the benefit of artificial intelligence, as well as the role of important partnerships with major national industrial entities such as SABIC and “Maaden”, in promoting industrial innovation and stimulating innovative technical solutions in the industrial sector.

Smart infrastructure

The session discussed the global smart infrastructure market, which is expected to grow into a trillion dollars during the next decade, and focused on how to meet the integrated investments for increasing industrial demand while enhancing responsible and sustainable development.
