Aboul Gheit: Arab support for the Egyptian-Jordanian position of rejecting calls to displace the Palestinians is clear and unambiguous.
Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, said today, “The League stands strongly and principled in supporting the Egyptian and Jordanian position that rejects the ideas being promoted regarding the displacement of Palestinians.” This came in a press statement by the Secretary-General immediately upon his arrival in Rome to open the Arab-Italian Economic Forum. Whether in Gaza or the West Bank… the Arab alignment in support of the position of Egypt and Jordan is clear and unambiguous… and the renewed old theses of displacing the owners of the land From their lands, theses are rejected and there is no point in discussing them…” He said, “The solidity of the Egyptian-Jordanian position and the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, with Arab support for rejecting displacement, will fail all plans to liquidate the issue.”
