His Highness discussed with His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, the most prominent strategic axes and work mechanisms, in addition to future projects through which the Council is working to develop more villages and regions and enhance their economic and tourism potential in a manner appropriate With the nature of each region.

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed the strategy, which focuses on all operational and practical areas while identifying various strategic initiatives, goals, and updates that will accelerate the pace of work and achievement, in addition to the requirements for developing facilities and services in villages and regions to be among the best tourist destinations. and development in the country.
The strategy attaches great importance to sustainability and social responsibility initiatives by relying on an integrated set of metrics and key performance indicators to track the progress of strategic initiatives and measure their results. The Council’s strategy is based on an integrated set of axes aimed at developing balanced development projects, managing their workflow, and coordinating with relevant ministries and local authorities. Regarding the development plans for villages and regions and the timetable for implementation, and approving the proposed areas of partnership with the private sector, especially national companies.
The projects of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development also aim to enhance the quality of life in all regions of the country and build a sustainable development model that provides economic and investment opportunities that achieve social stability and a decent life for the residents of these regions by focusing on development axes, launching commercial and economic projects to absorb the energies of youth, and raising awareness of the dimension Historical and archaeological areas of the areas being developed as an important part of the history of the UAE.
The Council’s strategy is based on four basic axes with the aim of achieving comprehensive growth in rural areas, and includes economic, societal, tourism and cultural axes.
The economic axis aims to create diversified mini-economies through an integrated set of programs that include “productive farms,” “supporting creative and craft industries,” in addition to the “job opportunity” program to create job opportunities for people in rural areas.
While the community axis focuses on enhancing family and social cohesion, a number of its goals were launched within the package of community initiatives during the annual government meetings, including the following: the “Shabab Vigor” program, which aims to develop and support youth activities, events, and hobbies, in addition to establishing sports facilities aimed at the participation of more than 50,000 people. Participant… while the “Support for Senior Citizens” program is concerned with organizing activities and initiatives for senior citizens that ensure the transfer of their experiences to future generations and focuses on providing 10 spaces for them that provide social, health, entertainment and sports services… while The “Supporting Family Cohesion” program aims to enhance family cohesion, mental health, and women’s support, in addition to launching educational platforms, and targets more than a thousand participants. As for the “Emirates Councils” program, it aims to build 10 councils in villages and regions to be a headquarters for community events and activities.
As for the tourism axis, it aims to create tourist destinations and organize unique tourism festivals and events through the Emirates Villages programs and the Tourism Support Fund.
While the cultural axis aims to enhance local heritage and culture, including promoting, documenting, and preserving the cultural and historical depth of villages and rural areas by designing cultural tourism experiences with the people of the regions and developing the skills and products of artisans in them. The axis also includes documenting the historical dimension of the regions and customs in cooperation with universities and students, in addition. To activate public spaces in order to create an interactive artistic environment inspired by the culture and nature of the region.
In order to achieve the Council’s promising strategy, a series of media campaigns will be launched to highlight the most important components and landmarks contained in the developed areas and villages, in a way that enhances their presence on the domestic tourism map in the country, in addition to enhancing cooperation with various partners in the government and private sectors.
It is noteworthy that the “Emirates Villages” project was launched during the month of November 2022 with the aim of developing a sustainable development model, and creating economic and investment opportunities that achieve social stability and a decent life… while the project to develop the “Qadfa” region of the Emirate of Fujairah was launched to be the first of the “Emirates Villages” projects that comes within The Emirates Council’s strategy for balanced development and its efforts aimed at developing remote areas in the country through a sustainable development model in January 2023… in addition to the project to develop the “Masfoot” area in Ajman as part of the Emirates Villages projects.
