Developments and challenges of the labor market
In his opening speech, Engineer Al -Rajhi stressed that the international conference of the labor market since its foundation a year ago has become a leading platform to form the future of labor markets, thanks to valuable attendance contributions and their participation from all over the world, noting that the conference is of great importance due to the major transformations posed by labor markets It is formed in the world.
He explained that the world is witnessing rapid technological developments, basic demographic changes, and emerging issues such as adaptation to climate change, which requires taking proactive and bold steps in preparation for facing future challenges.
His Excellency touched on the increasing challenges at the global level, as the number of unemployed youth is about 67 million, and about 20% of those between the ages of 15 and 24, do not work or participate in educational institutions or training programs, and nearly 40% suffer from Employers are difficult to occupy vacancies due to the inconsistency of the workforce skills with the requirements of the labor market, as the youth unemployment rate exceeds 30% in some regions of the world.
Enabling the workforce in the Kingdom
He reviewed a number of pioneering steps taken by the Kingdom under the umbrella of Vision 2030 to enable its working forces and stimulate the transformation in the labor market, including training programs and legislative initiatives, launching the youth development strategy in the Kingdom, and cooperative training policy.
He revealed two initiatives aimed at converting challenges into opportunities, the first: the launch of the “Labor Market Academy”, which is based in Riyadh.
The second: “The Future Support Report”, to provide practical recommendations based on in -depth research, and provides innovative strategies to fill the skills gaps and enhance lifelong learning.
