The Minister of Tourism opens a forum "Data cycle in personal and tourism image infrastructure"

Today, Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, opened the opening session of the forum and workshop organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, throughout the day at the headquarters of the magnificent Egyptian Museum, under the title “The Role of Data in Enhancing the Formulation of the Mental Image of Tourist Destinations Digitally,” “From Data to Destinations:Mastering the Digital Narrative,” in cooperation with the global TripAdvisor platform, which is one of the largest global electronic platforms specialized in travel. And tourism, in light of the existing partnership between the Ministry, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, and the platform.
The session witnessed the presence of a number of leaders of the Ministry and the Authority, and representatives of the global TripAdvisor platform, along with representatives of the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers and Specialized Chambers, and the private tourism sector, including tourism companies and hotel and tourism establishments.
Sherif Fathi gave the opening speech of the forum, where He reviewed the objectives of organizing this important forum, which include the ministry’s keenness to transfer and exchange discussions on indicators and analyzes of global tourism markets, and to share them with all attendees, especially the private tourism sector, in a way that contributes to unifying visions and enhancing the ability to keep pace with developments in the global tourism market and promote Egypt’s tourism more effectively to achieve the goals of the tourism industry in Egypt. He pointed out that His Excellency was informed of part of these indicators and analyzes during his meeting with officials of the TripAdvisor platform on the sidelines of his recent visit to London to participate in the activities of the London Tourism Stock Exchange. WTM.
He pointed out that the forum also aims to discuss mechanisms for maximizing the benefit of the tourism diversity that Egypt enjoys, and to work on creating new tourism products that are integrated with well-known tourism products, in cooperation with local and international professional partners, especially tour operators and tourism companies, pointing out that Egypt already possesses multiple tourism components and diverse tourism styles and products that are unparalleled globally.
Sherif Fathi stressed that this vision represents the ministry’s current strategy, noting that it is a long-term vision based on Sustainable tourism components, as Egypt enjoys a unique diversity that includes beach and desert tourism, cultural and spiritual tourism, and other types of tourism.
The Minister explained that all promotional campaigns launched by the Ministry, represented by the Authority, are primarily focused on highlighting this tourism diversity under the slogan Unmatched Diversity.
He added that this tourism diversity contributes to encouraging tourists to repeat their visit to Egypt so that they discover a different tourist experience each time, which will be reflected in providing Egypt for more distinguished tourism products, noting that the first session of the forum will discuss this tourism diversity.
The minister explained that the second session of the forum will address the importance of highlighting the element of authenticity in the tourist experience, as it is one of the motivations for tourists choosing tourist destinations, as they are increasingly looking for distinct destinations in that.
He pointed out that authenticity in Egypt will remain an attractive and distinctive element in various tourism experiences, especially with regard to local culture, which is what distinguishes the tourist experience in Egypt from many others. From other countries, due to the richness, direct interaction, and real mixing with the local community through multiple tourism styles, which is greatly appreciated by tourists.
During his speech, Engineer Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, indicated that the Authority has a number of partnerships with global partners to promote the Egyptian tourist destination, especially in the field of digital marketing, including its partnership with the global TripAdvisor platform, explaining that the contracts concluded by the Authority for this The year was not limited to promotion only, but also aimed at cooperation in developing and raising the efficiency of the authority’s employees by organizing various training courses and specialized workshops, such as the event being held today.
He added that these partnerships also aim to transfer and exchange experiences and knowledge to colleagues in the private tourism sector, about the latest global trends in the tourism and travel industry and developments in global markets.
Engineer Ahmed Youssef stressed that the private tourism sector is an essential partner in the tourism industry, and has a pivotal role in tourism promotion. For Egypt and implementing various promotional campaigns in a way that contributes to driving and increasing tourism flows and revenues.
The opening session of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities was attended by Professor Youmna Al-Bahar, Deputy Minister, Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, Engineer Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, Mr. Ahmed Obaid, Assistant Minister for Diwan Affairs and Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry, Engineer Mustafa Ali El-Din Imam, Assistant Minister for Minister’s Office Affairs, and Professor Samia Sami. Assistant Minister for Tourism Company Affairs, and a number of leaders of the Ministry and the Authority.
Mr. Hossam Al-Shaer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers, and a number of heads and members of the relevant tourism chamber councils, also participated in the event.
It is worth noting that this event was organized within the framework of the Ministry’s strategy and in light of the current partnership with the global Tripadvisor platform, as the Authority launched a promotional campaign with the platform to promote the Egyptian tourist destination last September and will continue until June 2026, including activities that extend throughout the year. With Focusing on the main tourist seasons and targeting 9 major European markets, it aims to enhance awareness of Egypt’s tourism brand and measure travelers’ trends through specialized research on their perception of Egypt as a tourist destination.
