The UAE Pavilion in the Venice Biennial 2025 organizes an exhibition "On low heat"

Abu Dhabi, January 30 / WAM / The national pavilion of the United Arab Emirates announced its next exhibition “on a quiet fire” at the nineteenth international exhibition of architecture in the Venice Biennial, Italy, which will be held from May 10 and will continue until November 23, 2025 under the supervision of the architect and the researcher The Emirati Academy Ezza Abu Alam.
The exhibition explores the advanced relationship between architecture and local food production in the United Arab Emirates, and proposes innovative solutions to produce food at the individual and societal levels, and through an approach that combines archiving, field and design research, and also proposes architectural solutions specially designed for desert environments.
The exhibition offers new solutions on food security, in light of the impact of climate change on agricultural systems, and is looking for ways to adapt local experience in food production with climatic and environmental conditions specified for the Gulf region over time.
The national pavilion of the United Arab Emirates continues to cooperate with local institutions, such as Zayed University, and the Sharjah Art Foundation as part of its continuous commitment to supporting the research of cultural practitioners, values and scientists in the United Arab Emirates.
His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, said that the participation of the UAE in this event reflects its firm commitment to providing innovative solutions to face the most urgent global challenges; Where the exhibition sheds light on the relationship between architecture and food security, and shows how the sustainable design contributes to enhancing climate flexibility and resource management efficiently, as it expresses the efforts of the entrepreneurial state towards developing renewable architectural concepts that suit arid environments, which contributes In enriching the global dialogue on sustainability issues, self -sufficiency in food.
For its part, Ezza Abu Alam said the value of the exhibition, that “on a quiet fire” will provide research that talks about one of the most urgent challenges in our time, which is food security, and explores the intersection of architecture, innovation and sustainability to address critical issues that constitute our common future.
She added that the exhibition links the unique cultural and architectural identity of the United Arab Emirates to the urgent global challenges, and provides innovative views that combine realism and imagination on food and sustainability systems.
Laila bin Brik, director of the national pavilion of the UAE in the Biennial of Venice, said that the pavilion is committed to sharing the irrigated stories about the state on the global scene, and linking the rich cultural heritage of the UAE to international discourse.
