The Assistant Secretary -General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States, Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, stressed that the identity plays a pivotal role in shaping the vision of youth and their interaction with the outside world, noting the importance of preserving the Arab identity among Arab youth.

Abu Ghazaleh said, during a speech within the activities of the Arab meeting of the young leaders, delivered on behalf of the Secretary -General of the University, Dr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, that the identity plays a pivotal role in shaping the youth’s vision and their interaction with the outside world, as the identity is a major element that contributes to the formation of the character of Arab youth, It enhances their strength and the ability to express themselves in a different way.

Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh explained that some Arab youth creators can transfer their cultural heritage through art, culture and technology, as we saw the merging of traditional works with modern technology, creating this distinctive and upscale artistic works.

Contribute to spreading awareness

She emphasized that entering technology in our daily life made young people able to express their opinions; The communication platforms have become an arena for exchanging opinions and contributing to spreading human rights awareness, pointing out that entrepreneurship has become common among young people, some of them set out of simple ideas to achieve major successes at the Arab and international levels.

Haifa Abu Ghazaleh pointed out that the identity includes culture, religion, customs and traditions, but with the development of technology, Arab youth became more open to other cultures in which traditionalism disappears, noting the challenges of globalization and the challenges they bring to Arab youth that may affect their identity.

She pointed out that technology contributed to enhancing the identity of Arab youth because it provided them with platforms to express and exchange their ideas with young people around the world. She stressed the importance of supporting young people through good education and existing opportunities, as the identity of young people is their future in order to become an effective part of forming policies.
