Tourism Minister Fatima Al -Serafi, CEO of the Tourism and Exhibition Authority, Sarah Bouhaji, and the CEO of Harq Al -Muharraq Ahmed Al -Emadi, opened the Food Festival in its ninth edition, with the participation of a number of officials in the Marassi Bahrain Resort and the Bahrain Building Company.
The activities of the ninth edition of the Bahrain Food Festival started last Friday in the Bahraini Marassi in Diyar Al -Muharraq, with the participation of more than 100 restaurants and cafes, where they offer a variety of foods that meet the tastes of all citizens, residents and visitors from outside the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The festival activities will extend over 20 days until February 26, interspersed with many activities, programs and entertainment events, and will be held on a total area of 35 thousand square meters, where 4 areas were allocated in the festival that includes various vehicles and kiosks, in addition to the popular food village that contributes to Highlighting the Bahraini identity.
On this occasion, Minister of Tourism Fatima Al -Serafi stressed the importance of the Food Festival as one of the main events in Bahrain, as it represents an important platform for entrepreneurs in the restaurant sector.
She pointed out that many entrepreneurs have benefited from this platform in promoting their products and innovations, which reflects their progress in this field. She also pointed out that many regional and international countries are beginning to advance in the field of food tourism, which enhances competition and increases awareness of the importance of this sector.
As for the CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Sarah Bouhaji, she expressed her optimism about the food festival for this year, noting that the ninth edition differs from the previous years in terms of providing a variety of visitors and tourists. She explained that the festival witnessed a great demand from citizens and residents, even with weather fluctuations, and that the Bahraini product was developed to reflect an international character.
She stressed the importance of providing an integrated experience for visitors, including eating and enjoying a set of accompanying activities and events, which makes the festival an ideal destination for families and friends.
At the end of her speech, she expressed her hope that the festival will contribute to enhancing tourism and food culture in Bahrain, and that everyone would enjoy their time during this event.
For his part, the CEO of Harq Al -Muharraq Ahmed Al -Emadi spoke about the importance of these festivals as an opportunity for visitors from inside and outside Bahrain, noting that the distinguished location of this year’s festival in Diyar Al -Muharraq and “Marassi Bahrain” is easy to access, and provides all the necessary services to visitors.
