The Arab Parliament stresses the importance of formulating legislation that enhances digital transformation in Arab countries
Dubai, February 11/ WAM/ His Excellency Mohammed bin Ahmed Al -Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, confirmed that Parliament is working to keep pace with the accelerated technological developments by drafting modern legislation that enhances digital transformation in the Arab countries, with a focus on artificial intelligence and its governance.
His Excellency pointed out in a special statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, on the occasion of the World Government Summit, to the efforts of Parliament in facing future challenges, promoting cybersecurity, and supporting entrepreneurship in the technical sector.
He explained that the Arab region is in urgent need to enhance cooperation in the economic fields to advance the governance sectors, enhance economic performance indicators, and consolidate the pillars of sustainable development, in order to ensure its effective contribution to the global economic agenda.
He added that the World Government Summit represents a modern experience that contributes to catching up with global developments in various fields, especially economic, to ensure a better future for future generations in the Arab region.
He pointed to the importance of holding such summits that bring together government officials, private sector representatives and thought leaders to review successful experiences and exchange them between countries, and benefit from them in various fields.
He affirmed the Arab Parliament’s keenness to keep pace with the rapid changes at the global level, especially in the areas of digital transformation, artificial intelligence uses, and sustainable development.
Al -Yamahi said that the holding of the global government of governments in its 12th session under the slogan “Future governments’ anticipation” represents a pre -emptive vision and an exceptional event that brings together representatives of global governments to discuss the developments of governance, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and climate changes, as well as the participation of representatives of the private sector and thought leaders To exchange ideas and formulate innovative solutions to the challenges facing Arab countries, stressing that hosting the UAE for this summit annually reflects its global leadership in anticipating the future and enhancing the performance of governments in dealing with the current challenges.
