Sharjah, February 11/ WAM/ The Museum of Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, which was established by a decree from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, sheds light on its valuable contributions in the fields of decorative and craftsmanship, along with its efforts Distinguished humanity.
The museum will be an inspiration for future generations of designers and craftsmen, with a highlight of the influence of Islamic and Arabic crafts on historical and contemporary arts.
The wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, said that museums are not just places to display holdings, but rather bridges linking the past with the present, and inspires future generations to make a future based on cultural values and heritage identity.
Her Highness added that the establishment of the museum comes as an affirmation of the importance of preserving traditional craft arts and highlighting its influence in the contemporary artistic scene, and it is a platform that celebrates creativity and innovation, and enables designers and craftsmen to transfer knowledge and exchange experiences and benefit from the rich legacy that the ancestors left for us, as we believe that the arts Handicrafts are not just aesthetic forms, but rather novels that tell the stories of societies and their cultures, and we hope that this museum will be an incentive for more research, discovery and creativity in this field, and the museum will also be a qualitative destination for displaying art pieces, jewelry, books, perfumes and other unique antiques.
The museum will become part of the “Sharjah District for Creativity” and is located in the heart of the city of Sharjah, and it is formed from various and integrated buildings that serve talents and provide them with a free space to translate their ideas into tangible reality.
The neighborhood will include “Qasimi Archive”, “Sharjah Fashion Development Laboratory”, “Heritage Museum” and “Sharjah Design Center” and Luckol, the jewelry art schools school with the support of Van Cleef & Arpels.
In order to achieve its goals, the “Museum of Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi” will seek to provide ways to reach the main sources, historical documents and academic publications, by establishing a digital archive that allows researchers and experts from all over the world to reach a distance.
It will also support charitable initiatives that reflect its commitment to supporting arts and handicrafts, by creating a fund to support emerging artists and craftsmen, and to provide new opportunities for museums to participate in charitable activities that are in line with their holdings.
The museum will work to be a temporary exhibition of educational and training programs, in addition to organizing live professional offers, as well as hosting exhibitions and events that reflect the ingenuity and mastery of its holdings, and to organize workshops under the supervision of experts in decorative arts, jewelry design and perfume industry.
