The Ministry of Economy aims to increase the number of patents and export it abroad

The Assistant Undersecretary for the Intellectual Property Sector at the Ministry of Economy, Dr. Abdul Rahman Hassan Al -Muaini, said that the UAE pays great attention to developing a national environment incubating the activities and areas of intellectual property, innovation and patents according to international best practices, indicating that the government is seeking today to increase the number of patents and export them outside UAE.
Al -Muaini indicated that the goal is to encourage and increase the number of patents that support the innovation index from relying on the knowledge economy, noting that the UAE launched a new path for “green intellectual property”, which aims to stimulate innovation, accelerate the localization of technology and establish new projects in the fields of economics Ring, environmental sustainability and the new economy.
And that this path contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of the intellectual property system in the state and pushing it to more advanced and prosperous levels, indicating that the goal is not to register patents and obtain a certificate in it, but invest in these patents.
He pointed out that the centenary of the Emirates 2071 is based on a diversified and knowledgeable economy, including the revenues of intellectual property and patents.
He explained that the number of patents registered in the UAE exceeded the barrier of 6.5 thousand patents after recording more than 900 patents last year.
