43% of women’s representation in leadership roles

Hoda Al -Hashemi, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, confirmed that the percentage of women’s representation in the leadership roles witnessed a qualitative shift as it jumped by 43%, and the UAE is now the seventh rank globally in the gender equality index issued by the United Nations Development Program, as it advanced 47 centers in the gender gap report issued by the World Economic Forum.
She said during the Gender Balance Forum, at the World Summit on Governments held in Dubai, that we must realize that the role of women is not limited to participating in national development, but also extends to include leadership, innovation and making change, and we committed to making the UAE a global model in gender equality where we have conducted More than 22 legal amendments to enhance these equality, including labor laws, personal status, and government representation, noting that the percentage of women’s representation at the general joint stock companies listed on the stock exchange reached 200%with a total of 141 women.
She continued: “We were the first country in the region to offer a paternity leave, because we believe that men should participate in the support of the family, and that adding paternity leave allows men to be equal partners in society and enhance the cohesion of the family.
