Sharjah Municipality extends the working hours of public parking lots with blue plates until 12 midnight in Khor Fakkan

The Sharjah City Municipality, in cooperation with the Municipality of Khor Fakkan, announced the amendment of the working hours of the paid parking lots throughout the week and official holidays, which are shown on blue signs in the various areas of Khor Fakkan, to become from eight in the morning until twelve midnight, instead of ten in the evening as is the norm, starting from February 16, 2026, in a step aimed at making public parking available in tourist and lively areas in particular, until late hours of the night, while other parking spaces remain. It is subject to fees as is, and the modified tariff times apply to it in the month of Ramadan only.

The municipality confirmed that amending the working hours of public parking lots with blue plates came after an extensive study of the nature of these parking lots, the rate of demand for them, and the areas in which they are located, and based on standard comparisons, and also in response to the comments of many residents and visitors. In light of the economic and commercial boom, operating public parking lots until midnight has become necessary, with the aim of providing them for customers, reducing their misuse, and overcoming obstacles and challenges, so that owners of seasonal subscriptions and patrons of restaurants and cafeterias find… Difficulty finding parking after 10pm.

She stated that this increase in timing will not lead to any increase in parking subscription service fees, but will remain at the same current price. Rather, subscribers to the parking service will receive an additional two hours on a daily basis, as previously the permit granted its holder an exemption from parking fees for a period of 14 hours per day, so the period has now become 16 hours.
