The Minister of State of Maitha Al -Shamsi stressed that the most important characteristic of the UAE is not only sustainable development, but the continuation of development efforts since the establishment of the Union until now, noting that the state has played a major role in formulating the United Nations agenda for sustainable development, which was reflected on the state’s centenary strategy, which adopts On 4 axes: a government that looks forward to the future, education for the future, a varied knowledge economy, and a more coherent society.

Al -Shamsi said during a speech to her within the activities of the Sustainable Development Goals Forum, during the World Summit of Governments 2025, that the UAE succeeded in achieving the sustainable development goals and gave special priority to enhance innovation, scientific research and technology to reduce the carbon footprint, which was confirmed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State , May God protect him, on the fifty -second union feast, as part of the state’s directions for the year 2024.

She added: “The state launched many strategies that include the lifestyle of individuals and the state, as it was concerned with services and projects that meet the basic and material needs, as well as the dignity and experiences of human beings as one of the most important axes of the national strategy.”

Al -Shamsi stated that the developments are very changing and rapid, as well as challenges, which requires amendments to the plan according to the changes and developments facing the entire world, which is reflected in the state’s strategy, pointing to the role that the UAE has played to eliminate poverty and hunger through international and local initiatives.

She pointed out that the UAE was interested in the axis of “good health”, and has achieved many achievements in this sector by relying on medical technology and providing a corona vaccine for all, and the state also put advanced strategies for developing education such as 2030 strategy in line with the fifty document and adopting the principle of continuing education as the magic key For all types of development in the world.

The Minister of State emphasized that individuals have a great role in the continuity of education and not only governments. Development is a partnership between individuals and governments, so governments must return- through education- the experienced person, and this basic vision of educated individuals so that they are more contributing to their societies.

She explained that with regard to the axis of gender equality and empowerment of women, the UAE reflected a global model through legislation to empower women because of their role in building societies as well as building future generations, and this means creating a balance between the work of women and their role in the development of children, pointing out that His Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak led the support and empowerment of Emirati women, which she started with the education of women so that she can prepare generations capable of building the homeland.

Preserving the environment and sustainable energy

With regard to energy, Maitha Al Shamsi said: “During the cup 28, the UAE has proven the extent of its ability to support the global community and enhance its role in preserving the environment and sustainable energy, and its approach to industry, innovation and infrastructure continues through several programs such as the Emirates Program to anticipate Mars.”

She added: “By 2030, the green agenda will turn the UAE towards the green economy, whose agenda works to transform and rely on sustainable development goals, by relying on clean energy, the ability to climate climate adaptation and rational exploitation of environmental resources so that we work to sustain everything we have.”

She emphasized the state’s commitment to sustainable development and accelerating the pace of achieving goals that support economic, social and environmental dimensions, where we have a national committee that reflects the leadership’s keenness to achieve sustainable development, while the state is working to monitor all challenges and turn them into promising opportunities.
