المملكة: 13 million passengers and 28 million tons … standard achievements for “Sar” trains in 2024

Saudi Iron Airlines “Saar” revealed that more than 13 million passengers were transported in 2024, an increase of 22% compared to 2023.
In addition to the transfer of more than 28 million tons of goods and minerals, with a growth of 15%, which reflects the noticeable development in the railway sector in the Kingdom.

Saudi “Saar” efforts in 2024

In the context of supporting the national economy and enhancing logistical services, “Saar” played a vital role by eliminating pressure on land transport, as it contributed through the train of holy feelings to transporting more than 2 million pilgrims during the Hajj 1445 AH season.
The year also witnessed an increase in the number of operational trips to passenger trains, as more than 35,000 trips were recorded, an increase of 19% compared to last year.
In the shipping sector, “Saar” succeeded in removing more than 2 million truck flights from the Kingdom’s roads, which led to the provision of more than 113 million liters of fuel and carbon emissions, in order to enhance environmental sustainability and achieve the national transport and logistical strategy targets.

Saar quality projects

The company launched qualitative projects to enhance its position at the local and international levels, including the luxurious “Desert Dream Train”, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region.
In addition to the inauguration of a new path for the shipping train outside the urban range in Al -Ahsa Governorate, which contributes to raising traffic safety rates and improving the flow of trains.
On the level of expansion and strategic partnerships, Sar signed 63 contracts, agreement and memorandum of understanding with several parties, as well as obtaining 6 international accreditation certificates confirming its commitment to the highest quality and safety standards.

Safety campaign “Asol You”

The safety campaign also launched “Islam for you” for 2024, to enhance awareness of the risks of infringement of the railway campus and protect public and private property.
The CEO of Saudi Iron Airlines, Dr. Bashar bin Khaled Al -Malik, confirmed that these achievements came thanks to the great support from the wise leadership and the follow -up of the Minister of Transport and Logistics.
What contributed to achieving qualitative leaps in transportation services and enhancing the reliability of trains as a basic option for transportation in the Kingdom.

“Saar” strategy for railways

The “owner” added that the year 2024 witnessed a remarkable integration with various sectors, and that “Saar” operates according to a strategy that extends until 2035.
The signing of a contract to purchase 10 new passenger trains includes contracts that aim to link maritime transport to railways, in addition to a memorandum of understanding to link the logistical area to the second industrial city in Dammam to the East Network.
These achievements reflect the pioneering role played by “Sar” in supporting the national strategy for transportation and logistical services, while enhancing environmental sustainability through innovative and efficient transport solutions, which contributes to consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a global logistical center and achieving the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.
