After an explosion and fire… 3 Indonesian sailors are missing in the Strait of Hormuz

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the loss of three Indonesian sailors following the sinking of a tugboat on Friday in the Strait of Hormuz.

A lone survivor

The Ministry explained in a statement that one of the Indonesian sailors survived the accident and is currently receiving treatment for burns in the city of Khasab in the Sultanate of Oman, while local authorities continue the search for the three missing sailors.

She added that the ship was exposed to an explosion followed by a fire before it sank, noting that an investigation had been opened to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.
