Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri stressed that the council will continue its vital role in developing the hospitality sector based on the best practices followed globally, and contributing to supporting the achievement of the “National Tourism Strategy 2031”, by launching more initiatives and various tourism projects that would establish a state position The UAE as a leading global tourist destination at the regional and international levels.

The growth of the hospitality sector

Abdullah bin Touq said during the meeting: “The hospitality sector in the country is witnessing continuous growth, as the total number of guests of hotel establishments in the seven Emirates reached approximately 24.9 million inmates during the first ten months of 2024, a growth rate of 9.5% compared to the same period in 2023, The total number of hotel nights reached 85 million nights during the first ten months of 2024, a growth rate of 8% compared to the same period in the year 2023, and the total number of hotel establishments in the country reached about 1246 facilities at the end of last October, achieving 2% growth compared to the ten months. In detail, the meeting witnessed a discussion of a group of innovative tourism initiatives, which the UAE can provide during its participation as a guest in the work of the G20 for the year 2025, which will be held in South Africa, and these initiatives are based on promoting tourism sustainability and reducing carbon emissions, as well as localizing technology and advanced technologies In various sectors and tourism activities.

Standardization of the travel experience

The Council touched on a set of marketing ideas to support the promotion of the “Great Tourist Paths” project, aimed at unifying the experience of traveling in the emirates of the Seven State, highlighting the cultural diversity of visitors and encouraging them to explore the destinations and tourist attractions enjoyed by the UAE as a leading and global tourism destination.

The Council discussed the possibility of providing a new tourism training program, which is “summer hospitality camps”, which aims to enhance resettlement and involve young people in the tourist professions in the country, develop the skills of local workforce in the fields and activities of the hospitality sector, provide them with the necessary practical experiences, and raise awareness of the importance of the contribution of Emirati tourism In enhancing the growth of the national economy, the program will be available for students between the ages of 16 years and over.
