“Civil Aviation” in Sharjah and “Serco” renewed the partnership agreement to provide air navigation services

The Civil Aviation Department in Sharjah and Serco International announced the renewal of the partnership agreement between them, in a way that ensures the continuation of “Serco” in providing air navigation services at Sharjah International Airport.
The department stated in a statement that since 1947, Serco has been the main provider of the air navigation system at Sharjah International Airport, where it continues to ensure the safety and efficiency of air traffic operations.
According to the signed agreement, Serco supervises the Department of Aviation Information in Sharjah (AIM) and ATS services, at a time when the extension of the partnership between the two parties confirms mutual trust and joint commitment to developing high -skilled workforce forces in the field of Emirati air traffic.
According to the statement, the cooperation between the Civil Aviation Department in Sharjah and “Serco” witnessed an accelerated development in training and developing Emirati competencies and increasing the percentage of Emiratisation, as there was only one Emirati officer in 2013 working as an observer of the air movement within the “Serco” team, and today the Emiratis constitute 48% From the company’s employees, with the adoption of the first Emirati air traffic control officer in Sharjah in the year 2024, to highlight this achievement, highlighting the success of efforts Emiratization and its positive impact on the local community.
