Ibn Touq: The UAE has succeeded in developing an integrated system for the protection of intellectual property rights

Abu Dhabi, February 20 / WAM / The Ministry of Economy has signed an agreement with the company “Nissan Middle East”, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in the areas of knowledge exchange and supporting initiatives to protect intellectual property rights.

The signing was witnessed by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy, and the agreement was signed by the Ministry, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Al -Muaini, Assistant Undersecretary for the Intellectual Property Sector, while it was signed by Nissan, Terry Sabbagh, Vice President and Director General of Nissan Middle East.

This 3 -year cooperation comes within the framework of the two parties ’keenness to create an environment in support of innovation and creativity, and to provide full protection for intellectual property rights, through the implementation of community awareness initiatives aimed at spreading a culture of intellectual property rights, and raising awareness of the importance of its respect and positive impact on stimulating Development and innovation in various sectors.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy, stressed that the UAE, thanks to the vision and directives of its wise leadership, has succeeded in developing an integrated system to protect intellectual property rights, according to international best practices, as it is an essential pillar in building a knowledge economy based on creativity and innovation based on successful partnerships with All sectors in the country, pointing out that the agreement represents a new step towards strengthening the partnership between the government and the private sector in The field of empowerment of innovation and the protection of intellectual property rights for development, as well as the agreement in support of the goals of the “general community”, especially through the development of skills, talent care, and encouraging innovation in various priority sectors for different groups of society.

His Excellency said that this agreement reflects the Ministry of Economy’s commitment to spreading societal awareness to protect intellectual property rights and consolidate its respect and support the innovation environment and motivate entrepreneurs and innovators to creativity in light of a legal framework that protects their ideas and creativity, as one of the strategic priorities of the Ministry of Economy, because of its pivotal role in motivating creators and innovators To develop their ideas and turn them into valuable projects Economic, which is what the ministry is working on through its various initiatives and programs to ensure the protection of these rights and enhance awareness of their importance.
