“Abu Dhabi District” records 36 thousand civilian marriages by the end of 2024

The Judicial Department in Abu Dhabi has registered 36 thousand civil marriage requests before the Civil Family Court for foreigners since the entry into force of the Civil Marriage Law and its effects No. 14 of 2021 in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, with an average of 70 civil marriage requests per day, equivalent to about 12 new requests every hour until the end of 2024 .

His Excellency Counselor Youssef Saeed Al -Abri, Undersecretary of the Judicial Department, stressed that this achievement highlights the success of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in providing a unique judicial model in the Middle East, by providing an innovative judicial and justice system that is in line with international standards, and supports Abu Dhabi’s direction to be a pioneering center in Providing advanced judicial services.

He pointed out that the increasing demand for civil marriage service embodies the position of Abu Dhabi, a favorite destination for foreigners and tourists from around the world who want to contract civil marriage, as it is a pioneer in establishing the first civil status court for foreigners in the region, providing all its services and procedures in the English language besides the language Arabic.

He said that the Civil Family Court provides many services electronically, including civil marriage, civil divorce without harm, joint custody, wills and inheritances, and proof of proportions, pointing out that the department launched the first Judicial Services Office in the English language in the region, which facilitates foreigners Understand procedures without linguistic obstacles.

The Hebrew Adviser added that this advanced model of the Civil Family Court constitutes a qualitative shift in the history of the courts in the Middle East, as foreigners can complete their legal transactions and litigation procedures in a smooth and transparent manner, and guarantees them the right to fully understand each step of the judicial process.
