This achievement supports Abu Dhabi global commitment to build a global financial center that includes within his system the Maria Island and Al -Reem Island, extending over a total area of ​​14.38 million square meters.
Abu Dhabi International expansion to Al -Reem Island has added approximately 500 thousand square meters of new office spaces to its geographical scope, which provides additional opportunities for companies wishing to join this financial center, which is witnessing accelerated growth.
The process of including companies operating on Al -Reem Island to the Abu Dhabi Global System has achieved remarkable success. Since the announcement of Abu Dhabi Global Expansion in April 2023, more than 600 new companies established their businesses on Al Reem Island, and more than 500 companies are based in Al Reem Island transferred Its license to Abu Dhabi International, which added a total of 1,100 new companies to the list of companies operating within the geographical scope of Abu Dhabi Global.
Al -Reem Island provides a wide and international set of residential, educational, medical facilities and other life facilities; Together, the Maria and Reem Islands, which represent the geographical range of Abu Dhabi Global, will be one of the most attractive places to live and work among global financial centers.
During the transitional phase, Abu Dhabi Al -Alami signed 15 memoranda of understanding with the main concerned authorities to enhance cooperation in many sectors, support growth, business continuity, and facilitate a smooth transitional process for Al -Reem Island companies, and Abu Dhabi International has implemented several flexible measures in cooperation with more than 30 organizational agencies Government, and these parties included: United Arab Emirates Central Bank, and the Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Security Ports, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, and the municipality of Abu Dhabi City.
These agreements included cooperative efforts with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company “ADNOC”, to enable the entities transferred to Abu Dhabi International ADGM to keep their current registration, through the dual license from the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, and also allowed companies to renew and issue security permits issued by the National Guard to work On the vital facilities in Abu Dhabi.
In addition, law firms in Abu Dhabi International have been granted a permit to continue registration of lawyers with the Ministry of Justice and the practice of the profession within the Judicial Department – Abu Dhabi while maintaining a double license issued by the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi.

Within the ongoing efforts to enhance the attractiveness of the business system, Abu Dhabi Al -Alamy announced the reduction of fees for issuing and renewing commercial licenses for non -operating companies in the financial sector and retail companies, as of January 1, 2025, which contributed to reducing costs by 50% or more.
