The President of the State and the Italian Prime Minister are discussing in Rome to strengthen the relations of the two countries

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, and His Excellency Georgeta Meloni, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, discussed the various paths of cooperation between the UAE and Italy within the framework of the strategic partnership that brings together the two countries.
This came during a meeting with His Highness the President of the State and the Italian Prime Minister, at the headquarters of the government in Rome, as part of a “state visit” by His Highness to Italy, where her Excellency and the accompanying delegation welcomed her aspiration until the visit was a strong push for the course of bilateral cooperation relations And joint work.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the continuous development witnessed by the relations of the two countries, especially in the fields of economics, investment, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy and sustainability, in addition to cultural aspects in light of their strategic partnership, which is an important framework to push their development relations forward and achieve the aspirations of their popularity.
His Highness the President of the State said that the Emirati -Italian relations date back to the first year of the establishment of the UAE and have developed over the past decades until it reached the level of strategic partnership, stressing His Highness the UAE’s keenness to achieve the goals of this partnership and upgrade it to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership in the interest of the two countries and peoples .
In this context, His Highness said that the volume of non -oil trade between the two countries reached 14.1 billion dollars during the year 2024, an increase of 21.2% compared to 2023, and by enhancing joint work, the increase in trade exchange between the two countries will continue.
His Highness pointed to the interest of the UAE and Italy in cooperation in the field of sustainability and renewable energy in addition to artificial intelligence and innovation, noting that His Highness the cultural dimension of Emirati -Italian relations and the keenness to enhance the bridges of interaction and cultural cooperation between the two countries and their peoples.
He said: We look forward to the Emirati investment in Italy, with a value of $ 40 billion, which it announced in achieving the development and prosperity of the two countries and their peoples.
For her part, the Italian Prime Minister expressed her country’s keenness to continue to strengthen cooperation relations with the UAE to achieve mutual interests of the two countries.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the State, and a number of members of the accompanying delegation to His Highness the President of the State, along with ministers and senior officials from the Italian side.
