“The National Multiple Sclerosis” launches new digital resources to support the mental health of patients

As part of its continuous efforts to provide resources and guidance, the National Multiple Sclerosis Association launched three new digital resources aimed at enabling living with multiple sclerosis and other chronic cases in the UAE. These resources were announced during the Fifth Conference on Integrated Mental Health in Abu Dhabi, which was held recently, during a session in which Dr. Raqaya Mir, a nerve consultant in Yas Klink, participated in the city of Khalifa, in the management of the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center, and a member of the Consultative Medical Committee of the National Association of Multiple Sclerosis.

Dr. Raqaya Mir presented a detailed show in which she reviewed integrated care models as a successful strategy that contributes to improving psychological and health results for coexistence with multiple sclerosis, reviewing the efforts of the National Assembly of Multiple Sclerosis as a study and a model of effective cooperation between various sectors.

The doctor also highlighted the main initiatives of the National Society for Multiple Sclerosis that aims to enhance the support provided to coexistence with multiple sclerosis, including the multiple sclerosis support line that provides advice and referrals, and directs callers towards specialized centers and hospitals that can coexist with multiple sclerosis. Dr. Ruqaya also referred to the multiple sclerosis guide issued by the association, which is a comprehensive source that connects individuals with multiple sclerosis and treatment centers. The therapeutic instructions developed by a specialized scientific team that included the advisory medical committee of the association were reviewed to ensure the effectiveness of medication plans, and to provide appropriate treatments for patients, which contributes to facilitating the start of new treatments early.

Dr. Raqaya Mir indicated during the conference the importance of the digital resources prepared by the association, a valuable group of reliable sources that can be downloaded for free on the association’s website, which was designed to enable the multiple sclerosis community through practical strategies for mental health management, maintaining proper nutrition, and effective communication with Children of different age groups to explain the diagnosis and symptoms.

• The mental health guide helps to coexist with multiple sclerosis and chronic conditions to enhance their mental health through information support and self -care techniques such as mental vigilance practices, blogging, and setting goals.

• The nutrition guide provides useful advice and advice for coexistence with multiple sclerosis and other immune diseases, and focuses on offering local and regional recipes with alternative health components.


• A guide to explaining multiple sclerosis for children adopted by the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, and provides effective ways to help families discuss multiple sclerosis in an appropriate way at home, with interactive activities for children of all ages to help them understand the situation in a simple way.
