“Danat” hosts the British ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain

This visit comes within the framework of historical and solid relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom in the field of pearls, the most recent of which was the signing of “Danat” an agreement in 2023 to launch pearl and gemstone examination services in the United Kingdom, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences, and the year 2020 witnessed the signature of “Danat “An agreement with the Association of Gem of Great Britain (GEM-A), thus becoming the first approved center to present the association’s programs in the region, which enhances capabilities The institute in training and research related to pearls and precious stones.
During the visit; Mrs. Noura Jamshir made a comprehensive presentation of the ambassador on the emergence and mission of the institute, and its role in strengthening Bahrain’s reputation as a global center in the pearl and precious stones sector and its continuous efforts in promoting Bahraini pearl heritage and preserving a sustainable marine environment, as the ambassador took a tour of the institute’s departments, in which he briefed the laboratories Prepared by the latest advanced devices, and it is known for training courses and scientific research The field conducted by the institute.
The visit also included a tour of the institute’s gemstone show library, which is the largest of its kind at the regional level; Through it, Ambassador Long got acquainted with distinct samples of pearls and gemstones that reflect the originality of the Bahraini heritage and its ethnicity, and also reviewed the activities held by the institute and participated in both local and international, in addition to the awareness -raising programs for the extraction and trade of pearls and precious stones.
In a statement to her on this occasion; Mrs. Noura Jamshir stressed the importance of this visit in enhancing the bonds of cooperation between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, which opens new horizons for establishing international partnerships that contribute to the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and enhances Bahrain’s position as a leading global center in this sector, and pointed to the depth of ancient historical relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom In the pearl sector, Bahrain was famous for the production of natural pearls for more than 5,000 years, and throughout history, traders attracted English jewelry looking for its finest types.
She also indicated that Bahraini pearls are still universal fame, citing the wearing of the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton for Bahraini pearl earrings during the royal celebrations in preparation for the crowning of King Charles III in the United Kingdom, and Jamshir recalled the authentic pearl contract and the throat of the pearls that the late Queen Elizabeth II wore several times And it was not asked about the reasons for its constant preference for this contract She said because it is from the natural Bahraini pearl while wearing it for half a century and is still preserving its color and luster as if it was made today, which highlights the position that this pearls enjoy as a symbol of elegance and sophistication.
