The UAE Floating Hospital in Al -Arish .. A year of the humanitarian role in serving the Palestinian brothers

The Emirati Hospital in the Egyptian city of Al -Arish, since its inauguration a year ago, provided treatment services for more than 7700 conditions, and performed more than 2,700 surgeries in various specialties, in addition to providing more than 3000 physiotherapy sessions, and the installation of 23 industrial party to the Palestinian brothers displaced from the Gaza Strip.

‌ The UAE floating hospital began its work on the twenty -fourth of February 2024 in the Al -Arish International Port in the Arab Republic of Egypt, which is the pioneering humanitarian project launched by the UAE within the process of “Al -Faris Al -Shahh 3” under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”.

The hospital has become a symbol of Emirati solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, as it continues to provide integrated health care for patients and injured around the clock.

This hospital comes as part of the “Al -Faris 3” humanitarian operation, which was launched by the UAE with the aim of alleviating the suffering of the Palestinians and providing integrated health care for them.

The hospital includes an Emirati medical and administrative staff of various specialties, with a capacity of 100 beds for patients, in addition to 100 for their companions, with advanced medical equipment that include operating rooms, focused care, radiology and laboratories.

In addition to the Emirati crew, an Indonesian medical team participates in providing health care inside the hospital, which includes doctors and surgeons specializing in various fields, which enhances the hospital’s capabilities to deal with critical cases, especially in the fields of surgery and physiotherapy.

During the past year, the medical staff succeeded in performing specific and complex surgeries, including endoscopic surgeries with complex injuries.

The hospital witnessed successive expansions, the most important of which is the opening of a physiotherapy department to provide the best health care services to patients and injured.

The hospital has the ability to perform up to 15 surgeries per day, in addition to providing up to 25 physical therapy sessions per day.

Since the opening of the physiotherapy department, more than 3000 physiotherapy sessions have been presented, patients have helped restore their motor abilities and improve their quality of life.

Advanced medical care

Mohammed Saeed Al -Shehhi, Director of the UAE Floating Hospital, stressed that the hospital played a pivotal role in providing advanced medical care for the Palestinian brothers displaced from the Gaza Strip, in implementation of the directives of the rational leadership and the UAE’s commitment to stand by them in these difficult circumstances.

He said: “Thanks to the efforts of specialized medical staff and modern equipment, we were able to treat thousands of patients and perform hundreds of critical surgeries. Certainly we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the best medical and humanitarian services, in the belief in our mission in alleviating the suffering of the injured and enhancing hope for recovery.”

The UAE Hospital was keen to organize various social and recreational events to recite the injured and mitigate their psychological suffering, which included entertainment shows for children, and recreational activities aimed at enhancing the spirit of hope and recovery among the injured.

During the past year, the hospital witnessed official visits from medical and humanitarian delegations, in addition to Emirati and international officials, with the aim of seeing the work progress and supporting the medical efforts provided to patients.
