Food, shopping and travel leads family spending options in the Emirates during Ramadan

Consumer spending in the UAE during the month of Ramadan is rising on food, shopping, entertainment, communications, restaurants, donation, community activities and travel, in addition to spending items related to buying gifts, maids and home services.
A modern survey conducted by the “Interiorial Center for Strategic Analysis”, based in Abu Dhabi, stressed that the spending of consumer families in the UAE is raising at rates ranging between 20 and 40% during the month of Ramadan, which is a major consumption season in the Emirates, where spending in various sectors is increasing, supported by offers and discounts in the markets.
“Interiorial” explained that families in the Emirates allocate a larger part of their budget for consumer spending during Ramadan, with a focus on shopping, social activities and eating outside the home and these items reflect the nature of the month in the country, which significantly increases spending. The month of Ramadan is a major driver for market growth in many sectors by supporting the spending of consumer families in the UAE.
The survey pointed out that spending may decline in the Emirates some items due to the change of daily habits, the most important of which are: non -Ramadan entertainment, such as low spending on cinema, parties and events that are not commensurate with the nature of the month.
Spending on mobility and transportation that is not associated with work or business and dining, during the day, as spending on cafes and restaurants that depend on fast food, as well as family spending, declines on gyms.
On the other hand, the “Interneton” survey explained that many families in the Emirates are heading to savings during the month of Ramadan by rationalizing spending on food and buying the necessary supplies only and not exaggerating the purchase of large quantities of food and drinks and through purchase of offers and discounts, especially from wholesale sales outlets.
These families also tend to prepare food at home instead of asking for ready -made meals and relying on mutual family food habits instead of eating abroad, setting the budget for gifts and feasts, choosing symbolic gifts instead of exaggerating the spending on luxury signs, avoiding the random purchase of clothes, reducing the consumption of electricity and water, rationalizing spending on travel and avoiding high tickets prices Reducing spending on recreational decorations and events and costly entertainment activities such as large parties or paid events.
He advised the “Interneton” survey of the necessity of pre -planning and preparing a specific budget for spending during the entire month of Ramadan and setting a plan that includes all expected expenses during the month and avoiding random purchase, especially with the tempting offers in the markets, which helps families in the Emirates achieve a balance between enjoyment of Ramadan and savings.
