“Airbus” plans to manufacture the A400M parts in the Emirates and create a maintenance and renewal center

Gabriel Simillas, president of Airbus in the Africa and the Middle East, said that the company is looking to manufacture parts of a large group of A400M aircraft in the UAE.
He explained in statements to “WAM” that this step will contribute to the integration of the UAE -based companies, such as EPI and Straka, more in the global supply chain.
He also pointed out that Airbus is developing plans to establish maintenance and renewal centers for A400M aircraft, which is a multi -tasking military transport plane, along with a training center, which contributes to enhancing the UAE’s position as a regional center for excellence in the aviation sector.
Simillas stressed the commitment of Airbus to develop local competencies, through training and technical assistance programs, in addition to research partnerships that support the development of future industries in the Emirates.
He explained that providing job opportunities and developing skills are two main pillars in their strategy to localize the industry, pointing out that Airbus offers training and technical assistance programs, in addition to industrial partnerships that provide the workforce in the UAE with advanced experiences.
Similas stressed that Airbus is not satisfied with providing products and services, but rather contributes to supporting the ambitious industrial strategy of the Emirates, such as “project 300 billion”, by investing in advanced manufacturing and developing national talents, in order to enhance the state’s position as a global center for future industries.
He affirmed the company’s commitment to expanding its cooperation with the UAE in the fields of aviation and defense.
Similas pointed out that Airbus has a firm presence in the Middle East for more than 40 years, and has played an important role in developing the sector through strategic partnerships, including cooperation with EPI in the Emirates, where the capabilities of the C295 aircraft were strengthened by adding an additional removable fuel tank, which allows it to implement new tasks, such as air -friendly.
In the aircraft manufacturing sector, Similas stressed that Strata, which is affiliated with Mablab, has continued for more than 15 years to provide Airbus with basic components of its wide structure aircraft, such as the A350, which enhances the UAE’s position as a prominent global provider in this field.
He also explained that EPI, one of the Edge companies, plays a vital role in manufacturing major components of A320 and A330 aircraft, with its gradual shift towards defensive manufacturing, which contributes to the consolidation of the state’s role as an advanced center in high -tech aviation production.
This cooperation was considered as evidence of the growing role of the UAE in the global defense supply chain of Airbus, in line with the goals of the Balance Council and the state’s industrial strategy.
He stressed that Airbus continues its commitment to providing custom solutions, expanding the scope of strategic partnerships, and enhancing cooperation at the sector level, in a manner that ensures the compatibility of its offers in the fields of defense and aviation with the security and economic priorities of the region.
